Frit

What is Frit?

Outline

Frit is a kind of borosilicate glass. Raw materials such as minerals and chemicals are mixed in a certain formulation and smelted at a very high temperature to be vitrified, and are further quenched and usually crushed to flake form. Frit is mainly used as surface coating materials for porcelain enamel and ceramics; tile, dinnerware or sanitary ware.

Features

Frit provides decorative appearance as well as excellent chemical and physical properties to the finished products. Specifically, frit mixed with color oxides can produce a wide range of beautiful colors with smooth, glossy and rigid surface. It improves heat resistance, acid/alkali resistance and durability of the finished products.
